Zenalux Biomedical in collaboration with Duke, has developed a quantitative optical tissue spectroscopy device and probe for a wide range of applications to improve healthcare diagnostics and outcomes. The Zenascope™ Quantitative Optical Spectrometer uses standard spectroscopic measurement hardware, and Monte Carlo algorithms to achieve rapid, quantitative, and nondestructive analysis of biological tissue characteristics. Key endpoints reported by the Zenascope including tissue absorption and specifically hemoglobin concentration and saturation, scattering and tissue metabolism. Application areas include: accelerating feedback in drug discovery; tumor margin assessment; assessment of response to cancer therapy to name just a few examples.
